December 2016 Connections

This year, Coca-Cola became the official sponsor for the East Los Angeles Christmas parade. As a 2012 Coca-Cola Scholar who was born and raised in East LA, Rocio Ortega reached out to Nancy Limon from The Coca-Cola Company in LA to see how she could help. She ended up marching in the East LA parade with her sister in tow alongside of the big Coca-Cola red truck and the polar bear! Recently, the East LA Christmas Parade had been cancelled due to funding but thanks to the support of Coca-Cola, the new official sponsors moving forward, the parade is back in town! This year's parade took place on Sunday, November 27, and Rocio was proud to have the chance to walk in it representing her favorite brand, Coca-Cola.
