Coding and Community Building with Madi Pfaff Edgar (2013)

Daron K. Roberts (1997), bestselling author and founding director of the Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation at the University of Texas at Austin, joins The SIP to host the fifth episode. He interviews Madi Pfaff Edgar (2013), the founder and CEO of two companies – Legesher, her open source project that connects the language we speak to the code we write, and With Madi Co., which empowers people to grow through personal and professional development.

Madi shares how she completely changed her life in one weekend to pursue her dream of starting her own company at just 23 years old, and becoming, as Daron says, “a builder of builders,” by helping others in the tech field take their potential to new heights.

Daron and Madi also discuss her experience as a minority in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), how COVID-19 may change the way we work together forever, and how she’s creating community through coding and as a co-pastor. (Madi shares a fun surprise about her future, too!)

The episode is introduced by Justin J. Pearson (2013).

The SIP, short for the Coke Scholars Ignite Podcast, shares a taste of the Coke Scholars around the world who are igniting positive change.
