Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company hosted a virtual celebration for the six 2021 Coke Scholars from their territory with their team and CEO, Junior Bridgeman.
“These extraordinary students were selected from more than 99,000+ applicants. We are proud to celebrate this tremendous achievement and welcome them to the Coca-Cola family.” they wrote.
Craig Kessler (2003) hosted a virtual Coke Scholars Pro event centered around his new book, The Dad Advice Project, with two of the other Dads from the book just in time for Father’s Day. They shared inspiring stories and discussed parenting with attendees, and everyone received a donated copy of his book.Scholars from the class of 2016 got together in Austin.Catherine Xiang (2019) and Justin Pearson (2013) enjoyed connecting through Coke Breaks. Coke Breaks is an initiative of the Alumni Advisory Board that randomly pairs Scholars together for 15 minute conversations each month.
Jackson Blackwell (2017) was selected to represent Alaska at the 2025 Western Governors’ Association Leadership Institute and Shine Gerkariah (2024) received the David Nicklas Organ Donor Awareness Foundation Award for their advocacy and research in ethical innovation and health equity.
Joel Bervell (2013) won a Peabody Award; Tim McCallum (1991) was elected Mayor of Rockwall, Texas; and Soy Kim (2010) was named one of 5 AAPI Music Executives Making an Impact in 2025 by Variety magazine.
Hali Borenstein (2003) was named to the 2024 Time100 Next list, Jack Lohmann (2015) and Simon Boehme (2010) released new books, Nyamekye Wilson (2014) was highlighted in Yahoo’s Built By Girls, and more.
