November 2019 Connections

Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling and CCSF’s new board chair, Kirk Tyler, hosted a fantastic dinner in Des Moines, Iowa, celebrating nearby Coca-Cola Scholars – even flying some in! We are beyond grateful.
Many thanks to Rudy Fernandez (1991) for hosting a fantastic Coke Scholars reception in Miami! So glad that friends from Coca-Cola Beverages Florida were able to join the fun along with local Scholars and CCSF staff members Jane and LaQuanda. See more photos.
Jesse Bernal (2000) and Grand Valley State University generously hosted a Coke Scholars reception in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Thank you!
Big thanks to Coca-Cola UK and Coca-Cola European Partners who hosted a Coke Scholars reception in their beautiful London office on Wimpole Street. Carolyn Norton from the CCSF team was in town for a conference and had an opportunity to connect Scholars abroad for the first time! They came from all over England, Switzerland, Paris, Sweden, Dublin and even some traveling from the United States. See more photos.
MIT Scholars gathered for a Slices for Scholars event on campus.
Waverly Chen (2014), Rewan Abdelwahab (2016), and Sara Lee (2013) had an impromptu meetup in Boston at Harvard Medical School while in town for two different conferences. “We made the connection when we all noticed Rewan’s Coke Scholar backpack!” Sara said.
Megan Rosenberger (2013) ran into Nasir Uddin (2006) at the Clinton Foundation Alumni Summit in New York, hosted by President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.
Andrew Barnhill (2006) and Jenn Shepherd (1989) had breakfast with Carolyn Norton (CCSF, middle) on a recent trip to Wilmington, North Carolina.
Kylan Nieh (2010) met up with Gracie Schram (2016) while he was visiting Sweden.
