Tanya VanCourt (1989) pitched her company Goalsetter to the “sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank in March. Her fellow 1989 Scholar Nelda Brown wrote, “Her company embodies the spirit of what we have always promoted through the Scholars Foundation. She’s a great example of yet another Coke Scholar making an important difference in our community.”
Speaking of Shark Tank, Shaan Patel (2007), who pitched his SAT prep company, Prep Expert, on Shark Tank several years ago and accepted an offer from Mark Cuban, has been named to INC.
