September 2022 Accolades

Adan Gonzalez (2011) was selected as a 2022-2023 White House Fellow and will be placed with the Department of Education. Coke Scholars Michelle Peluso (1989), Dr. Robert Accordino (1999), and Crystal Moore (2003) are White House Fellow alums. Learn more about Adan and his youth empowerment organization, Puede Network.
JT Batson (2001) was named the new CEO and Secretary General for U.S. Soccer.
Look for Brooke Taylor (2019) in Tyler Perry’s movie A Jazzman’s Blues on Netflix. She dances in the Club Royale scene choreographed by Debbie Allen. See Brooke’s incredible talent showcased during in our 2021 Scholars Celebration.
Yaseen El-Demerdash (2021) was selected to represent Team USA at the para swimming World Series this October in Tijuana, Mexico. Watch Yaseen share his story with some fellow 2021 Scholars who are making an impact.
